We are a Zanesville,Ohio-based, husband and wife team who love people and are passionate about creating amazing and meaningful images.

While we work hard to provide you the absolute best quality pictures that you will not just like, but love - we also aim to give you the opportunity to walk away from your session with more than just great photos.

Our clients are after photographs and an experience that they can't get anywhere else. That's exactly what we do.

We love to have a good time, and we don't take ourselves too seriously. However, we do take our craft seriously.  We've worked hard to cultivate, and are committed to living up to, the gifts we've been given to serve clients in Ohio and all over the nation.  If you'll allow us, we'll do that for you!

I (Joey) was born and raised in Zanesville. I graduated from  Philo High School and subsequently attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio where I studied Psychology. Following Denison, I attended Muskingum University where I obtained a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education.

My experience with art was always on the performance side.  In high school, if I wasn't at school, the chances were good that you would find me at the dancing studio where I not only studied dance, but also taught and helped manage the studio. I was also trained in vocal studies (singing), which continued as formal education at Denison, and was active in local theater performances.  I hope to return to the theater as our children grow and time allows.

My training, particularly dance and theater, has taught me to be aware of how the body is, and isn't able to move, as well as how those movements translate to an audience. In the context of photography, this means that I have the ability to determine how to move a subject to project different looks and moods to the camera.

I also spent 9 years completing 4-H sewing projects, learning how clothes are supposed to fit and how different style compliment different body types.

As a result, when I'm not behind the camera on a shoot, I spend most of my time working with our talent to ensure that their pose, hair, makeup, and wardrobe are perfect.

I (Sam) was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga.  I attended Pace Academy, a local private school, where I was a solid student, played for its state championship soccer team, was the captain of the basketball team, and played golf just for the fun of it. I still play golf occasionally, and every now and then pick up a basketball. But soccer has remained a big part of my life.  I continued to play as a college student, and as an adult have played in competitive area leagues and have coached at the high school level. Sports continue to be a part of my life, and you will likely see more than a few sports shots in our IG gallery as we travel around shooting high school sports.

In addition to athletics, I was fortunate to take part in an amazing arts program at Pace, and continued that as a college student, beginning my college career at Denison University in Granville, Oh as a studio art major. However, after 2 years of art training and, much to my parents' chagrin, declining the department's fellowship, I decided to switch majors. I graduated with degrees in Philosophy and Psychology.

Out of college, I worked for a local community bank, after which, Joey and I purchased and operated a small coffee shop and cafe. I enjoyed both, and learned a lot from each experience, but neither afforded me the opportunity to create. For me, art classes started very young, and the return to some form of artistic expression was unavoidable. So, what had been for a while a hobby, became my next career.

I am one of the fortunate few who can honestly say that I love what I do. Every day, I get to wake up and meet a new challenge that demands a creative and artistic solution. We don't have a stock list of locations or poses that we use for our clients.  Everyone comes to us with their own ideas about what they want out of their photos. So, we approach every session as unique and work hard to deliver one of a kind images.

And that competitive streak that once found its outlet through sports?

It now fuels my desire to be the absolute best at what I do. I spend hundreds of hours learning new techniques for both taking and retouching images. I spend, what is to many other photographers, an unreasonable amount of time on photographs to make sure they are perfect. I am, at my core, driven to provide you with the best possible images you can get. It's just in my DNA. (Click here for some examples).

We met at Denison, started dating the second week of our freshmen year, and got married a couple years after we graduated. This is our crew. Andie is our 3 year old daughter, and Samuel (the 5th) and Reese are our 18 month old twins. Yes, we have an absolutely insane house at the moment. In fact, we used to have a studio set up at our home, but that is now a disaster zone full of toys and anything else the kids decide to drag in there.

We'd tell you more, but if you know anything about toddlers, you know that with 3 of them, that's about all there is to tell.
